When to walk your dog during the hot summer months

My dogs are huge part of my life. They are my spoiled babies that keep me active and always put a smile on my face. They are rambunctious, silly and loving. They have their own likes and dislikes and unique personalities.

If you have dogs then you probably know that they need to be walked at least 1-2 hours every day, which I love. This also depends on the energy level of your dog. Some dogs need to be exercised more than others (and remember running around in your garden or yard does not = walks) Dog's body as well as mind needs to be exercised, they need to release tension, stress and exercise their pent up energy.
My dogs especially the boy could walk for hours and hours. This is his favorite past time. It's wonderful to take them on a few hour weekend explorations around town, the walks are great for us as well as the dogs-:) .  It's no surprise that the dogs love it so much- can you imagine being locked up at home without the opportunity to  move around, without being able to see what's going on in the world and the neighborhood, & not being able to release your energy and exercise your mind and body;- well I sure can't imagine that and your dog should always be properly walked and be well taken care of. After all, our dogs are our responsibility and they rely on us to take very good care of them :)

During these hot summer months you might be a bit hesitant to walk your pooch as much and to help you with that dilemma I wanted to share a great tool that I just discovered. This tool tells you when is the best time to walk your four-legged friend. It's called PetCast that is located on Weather.com
You go to "Weather.com" then click on the "Weather Aps" tab, select "Pet Care Aadvisor" from the drop down menu, A "Personal PetCare" menu will appear which you can fill out to customize the results to your dog (or cat) and the area you reside. After you select the apropriate selections which describe your dog click on "Submit" and a profile for the day will appear showing you the Temperature, Dog Comfort Index, Best Time to walk your dog, as well as the Mosquito Activity. You can have this saved in your favorites so if you want to check best times to walk your pooch you can just peek at your PetCast- Isn't that neat! :)
In addition you can set up a fun profile for your furrbaby, add a photo and further details to proudly display your doggie.

Go ahead and set your Pooches profile - I already did :)

Ps.
Dog Care Clinic Tip-
Did you know the temperature in your car can skyrocket to over 120 degrees in a matter of minutes? This is just ONE reason you should never, ever leave your pet in the car
