Travels and the Travel essentials list

It's been a BUSY last couple of weeks for me. Last week involved lots of travelling including work and play.

I love to travel, tour new cities, stay at fabulous hotels, eat delicious food at new to me restaurants, get pampered  and take in beautiful & new surroundings. Another thing I love about traveling is to be able to be disconnected from everyone and everything for few hours to really focus on a book or just your thoughts.
When I am forced to sit down (at the airport and plane) with nowhere to go at that given time, my mind starts to innovate new ideas & goals, it's quite wonderful and powerful. I love that part since it allows me to really focus and tune in with my thoughts and get inspired. I also love to be able to read a whole book without any interruptions and soak it all in. It's wonderful!

I am planning to travel a lot in the next coming year and I will be sure to do so in comfort and style :) Having said all that - I will be purchasing a few things to make my travels more special, comfortable and beautiful.   Creating a comfortable and stylish travel experience allows you to enjoy yourself that much more while feeling your very best- Just like staying at a luxurious hotel, that has all that you need and so much more above and beyond to ensure an amazing experience.

My current luggage needs to retire and I need to find a new baby to take it's place. It's important for it to look elegant & beautiful, be durable and easy to get around.
Here is a candidate for my new luggage set. I think it fits the bill perfectly, The design of this Gucci luggage set is fantastic! It's modern, elegant, sleek, durable, very comfortable to get around, minimal and sexy = everything I love in my designs.

Another item that I am planning to include in my traveling (and not traveling) ensemble is this great looking Michael Kors IPad case. I haven't purchased an IPad yet but plan to do so soon. I think it will be great for travel and taking care of some things while aways from my office. Also those great innovations that I mentioned earlier, well I think it will definitely help to document those :)
I love it, it's sleek, classic, and minimal- very beautiful design.

Another item on my list are these handsome black sandals. While traveling in the summer I love to have sandals on or with me. These are just so perfect. I also always have socks in my bag to get me through security or if I am cold on the plane then I can put them on; yet having my feet feel too hot is very uncomfortable.
Not only are they beautiful but also will nicely hug your newly pedicured feet without any tripping hazard. Also, they will go with so many great outfits. Love the look of these Burberry Jelly Flat sandals.

That's all for now. I will update you as I add to my list :)
Tell me, how do you like to travel? I'd love to hear your tips.

Murano glass chandeliers

I Love murano glass chandeliers, they are so classic, yet work so beautifully in modern interior design. The bright rich colors are just so spot on! The aquamarine is my FAVORITE,  the color is just so vivid mmm mm I am loving it!  They are all so pretty, something about the deep color saturation with the glass sparkle, chandelier form yet refined cleaner lines, make these babies so sexy!

Planting flowers and herbs in the garden

How is everyone's week going so far? Can you believe it's already Tuesday!? I don't know about you but our weather has been MAGNIFICENT this past weekend as well as Monday and today. I hear it is going to be Super HOT today. Oh I love my hot days knowing that if I can I can just walk into my perfectly chilled house after enjoying a bit of hot air outdoors. It is so nice to sit outside with a cold beverage under an umbrella and embracing the wonderful warmth. It is definitely a perfect time to visit a beach or have fun in the pool- I just love that!
This weekend I planted some flowers around the house since I ADORE having gorgeous flowers around to look at, smell and cut into a vases for our indoor enjoyment as well. I also planted some tomatoes and herbs so that we could have some yummy fresh additions to our salads and other meals- Can't wait for those to grow and mature.
Here are some flowers and herbs that are nowis now planted in the garden, take a look:

This is how the garden will look when it's in full bloom minus the tropical plants ;-)

Zinnias

Chives, oh I love chives it goes so perfectly with so many dishes, it gives it that perfect fresh spring taste- Yum!

Lots and lots of Petunias- Love them, not only do they flower all summer long but they are so easy to maintain and look gorgoeus

Dill- Oh another one of those perfect yummy herbs that you can put on anything and it just gives it this magical spring fresh taste

Sweat Pea- I love the colors the smell and the fact that it can climb and add such beautiful visual effect to a garden.

Cherry tomatoes- So yummy and fun to eat!

Basil- oh how I love basil- it's perfect with tomatoes!

More Zinnias in different colors - I haven't planted them before so I shall see how they flower and stand up to this weather :)

Mint- LOVE mint- we actually have two kinds planted. Since I was a little girl we used mint in so many ways for teas, drinks and many dishes- Delish!

There are many other plants that we have as well as flowers and herbs, but these are a few that I am impatiently waiting to grow and bloom.:)

Tell me what do you have planted in your garden? What do you love making with your veggies or herbs? How about flowers, what kind do you love most in your garden?

Have a lovely rest of the week everyone!!

Million Dollar Decorators

I waited patiently to finally tune in to yesterday's debut of Million Dollar Decorators . If you follow me on twitter you probably have an idea what I thought about the show and who stood out to me.
It's interesting to see how everyone was represented and how the projects that they are working on are portrayed on the camera. It's definitely a show that is made to entertain and of course it will capture some situations in an odd manner where you wonder how could they have said this or that to a client or handled a situation in this manner.
What's interesting to me is to think how I work and how I see these designers converse and go about a project. I definitely speak my opinion and give best advice yet I always take my client's needs and feelings to consideration to create a home that suits them through my expertise.

So far I could relate to Nathan Turner and Mary McDonald the most on a personal level. Nathan seems to be very happy, cheerful and positive with a humble attitude - which I love and similarly apply to my life. Mary on the other hand is funny, stylish, outspoken and confident- I definitely try to have fun with life and design, voicing my opinions about the project is very important as well as being confident on what I envision for the space. Having a great sense of style is also important to me, it's how I personally express myself.
On a more design project level - Both Mary's and Nathan's design aesthetics differ, yet they definitely involve clean lines in their interiors which is what I always incorporate.

I also resonate with Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Mary MaCdonald on a Tailored aesthetic-I also love my spaces perfectly tailored, pulled together in an elegant manner.

There were without a doubt some factors that went into the first episode that were NOT my style and I hope that they were indeed jokes or the product of clever editing. I would never disrespect other designer by tossing their fabric across the room and making faces (as Jeffrey Allen Marks' boyfriend/assistant did)- that to me is a low blow. Also I am not one to name drop (although I think in this situation it is just the reality. These designers clearly work with celebrities therefore specifying them as clients is pure reality. In addition while taping they were probably asked to answer questions for taping "name the celebrities that you have worked with?" and there you go ). Also if a client told me that they are getting divorced and they are selling the house the first thing that I would want to know is - how she or he is doing (again In this situation I do think this was edited to look pretty shallow and I think Mary is a jokster so her reaction was purely trying to be funny, I also sense that there was more to this scene in reality and it was cut for good TV. )

Clearly each episode needs to have some continuity and it's content needs to be fit in One hour and there are 5 designers along with their lives and projects - Which is A LOT. There is only so much we will see and I hope to see more of not just the fabulosity (which I love and it's fun to watch) yet the hard work that goes into each design project. Although this show is definitely meant to entertain I hope to see real hard situations that do arise on almost all design projects. I have worked on few residential multi- million dollar projects and let's just say- it sure is fabulous,  yet with bigger budgets comes more responsibility, more work, intense running around and coordination, the bar for perfection is definitely set VERY high. This is exactly what I want to see- I want to see the Real Design! :)

With that note -I can't wait to see next week's episode :)
Tell me what did you think of the show?
